INTERESTING LIFE OF TEATR.DOC
What is to be done? This question is flying around since the death of Elena Gremina, the director of Teatr.doc, a playwright and a theatre director. She passed away in one and a half months after the death of her husband, Mikhail Ugarov, the artictic director of Teatr.doc. It would seem that this could put an end to “the doc-people”: there is no home, no resources, and no mentors to teach what to do now. But there is no panic. We saved our repertoire, restarted rehearsals and we have a few projects in making.
Since the birth of this brainchild of Gremina and Ugarov there have always been talks about the political context of it. This context moved to the forefront in recent years when the authors started to emphasize things that are happening right now, around the corner or next door; the things that are impossible to miss. There is an interesting life around us and that means Teatr.doc will live.
That is what Mumin Shakirov’s film about.
