WHEN WE CAME TO POWER
Utopia in which the future Russia is ruled by the civil society.
Today the civil society in Russia does a lot of things that is supposed to be done by the state: it helps prisoners, raises money for the ill, works in hospices and shoots the best Russian films without any financial support from the Ministry of Culture. Everywhere from culture to prisons is seems that we can do everything by ourselves. And we want to imagine the future where the country is run by the people who actually care more about other people that about power and money. How does it feel when there are honest elections, government and ministers?
The play is based on the interview with those who work at their own risk instead of our state. The state which is focused on war, changing tiles and creating new taxes on air and rest. The state that doesn’t care about corruption, tortures in prisons, absence of the upward mobility for young people (and not only for them) and a lot more.
On stage there is the government chosen by our theatre! Olga Romanova is in role of the Head of the Federal Prison Service, Elena Kovalskaya as the Minister of Culture, Zoya Svetova as the national Ombudsman, Andrey Demidov as the Minister of Education and Anna Stavitskaya as the Head of the Supreme Court.
