WAR IS COMING
WAR IS COMING
Theatre.doc’s show in three parts.
A diary from Lugansk (Ukrainian city which was in the middle of the armed conflict), sent to Teatr.doc by Dmitry Bel, an ordinary citizen of the city, tells about the events of the past two years. At first it seems impossible that the war would suddenly come to their city, but soon step by step it happens. The houses are collapsing, the citizens are dying under artillery attacks, the human lives are being destroyed...
«Your Voice» by Mark Ravenhill (first performed in Russia) - text about the manipulation and brainwashing.
«Engagement» – a documentary project based on lawsuit materials of Oleg Sentsov, Alexander Kolchenko, Gennady Afanasyev and Alexei Chirnya. The war has already come, and ordinary guys, who happened to be in its radius, have a choice. Who am I? How much pressure can I stand?
The main question of the play is what does it mean to be a man? The play goes around the question: what does it mean to be a man? Is a man the one who can take care of his family and relatives in time of war? Is a man the one who stands for what he believes in even being tortured? The play “War is coming” creates immediate concentrated image of the war which is coming to someone’s house every day and we are simply very lucky that these houses are not ours at the moment.
